Your wedding stationery is the first taste your guests get of your big day, so it’s normal to agonise over this part of wedding planning. But we are here to show you that you don’t need to spend thousands of dollars on stationery to wow your guests!

Decide on your theme

Sit down with your partner and have a chat about your vision for the big day. Once you’ve locked down the theme of the day, choosing your stationery won’t be as overwhelming. It can be as simple as choosing your colour palette for the day.

Save the Dates

If you’re having a location wedding, or you have quite a few guests who will need to travel, we’d recommend sending save the dates to give your guests plenty of time to plan. But don’t feel that you must post out hard copies of Save the Dates. Have you considered sending these cards electronically? Paperless Post offers an incredible service that emails out your Save the Dates and will even collect guest addresses for when the time comes to send out the Invitations. You can even use one of our designs on Paperless Post!

If you don’t have many guests traveling, or you’re having a small wedding, you might want to consider skipping Save the Dates altogether and simply send your Invitations out a few months earlier than normal.

It’s no secret that we LOVE printable invitations. It’s such a great way to get the design of your dreams, without spending hundreds if not thousands of dollars. What are printable invitations? Reception Stationery

This is when couples start to see their budgets get blown out of the water. If you’re planning the day without a stylist or a venue coordinator, we recommend having a chat about your “must haves” and “would be nice” elements for the day. If you’re having a cocktail reception, you might not worry about menus and you won’t need a seating plan. But you might like a welcome sign right? Here is where the printable stationery comes back to save the day! You can get a printable welcome sign on Etsy from $20 – $40 depending on the shop and the design. Take that file to Vistaprint or Officeworks to print for around $80 on 5mm foam board (no frame required).

If you’re having a sit-down reception, you might like a seating plan to help guide your guests to their tables. Oh wait, but you need menu and place cards too? Ok. This is when things start to get crazy and money starts flying around! What if you could combine a few elements? We created these really cool menu place cards that are so popular. You don’t need separate place cards, and you could even go without a seating plan if you were having a smaller wedding.
